| Our friends all got together for the annual Dirty Santa Christmas party Saturday night and we had the wonderful surprise of snow falling while we partied! Yay! It was practically a white Christmas. :) And now that the excitement has worn off, I'm fretting over our plane ride tomorrow. Unfortunately, we're traveling through OHare on top of having to deal with snow here. The snow fall is suppose to hold off until tomorrow night, hopefully our 6:15 AM (!) departure won't be affected. Then if we can just breeze through Chicago all will be well. At least until one of us steps in dog poop. hehehehe Ok, work must be finished so I can enjoy the holidays! I'll try and update more over vacation.

| Now if only fortune would follow. That's me on my way to work as the Google car drove by! I'm on Google maps! hehehehehe Sadly, I look rather dorkish. :)

| Finally our household in the throes of technology. We have an LCD TV, an LCD computer screen, high speed internet, 2 (!) cell phones, and no landline. Whoa! This means my Seattle 206 number is no longer valid. Although I don't think anyone really ever called me on it anyway. Also, I'm planning on downloading Skype by the end of this week and locating a headset. Lauri, I'm dying to talk to you! :) I'll let you know as soon as everything is ready to go.
Otherwise, life has been pretty normal around here. I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving! The weather has been so mild here without too much rain that I'm still convinced it's early October. Sadly, this means that the time is nearing for one of the girls in my lab to leave. She is moving to New Jersey to be with her husband while she writes her thesis then she's coming back to defend in February. I'm glad she's finally graduating as this is her 7th (!) year in graduate school and her 3rd year away from her significant other (they've only been married for 1 year). She is definitely my best lab friend though. I'll probably get more done once she's gone but all the fun will be sucked out. I suppose that'll be good for me. I have to buckle down so I can get out of here! Which I suppose means I should be working right now instead of posting to my blog. Ha!

| The election results are turning out so well! I can't believe Obama won last night, I was totally expecting a close race and a long night. Even the Governor's race in Washington was called last night. Christine Gregoire, our Democrat incumbent, won the re-election! I'm sure it that doesn't seem surprising to people outside of Washington but she ran against Dino Rossi in 2004 also and she only won by, like, 500 votes. As of this morning she's ahead by about 115,000. whoo-hoo! We also passed the death with dignity initiative, a mass transit proposition (that shouldn't go on forever just to die like the monorail), and defeated this stupid bill to open HOV lanes to all traffic. Whew. Sadly, it looks like California passed prop 8, a constitutional ban on gay marriage. What the hell is wrong with California?! Who knew they'd be so conservative. Bleh. At least the "personhood amendment" failed in Colorado.
Enough political ranting. Off to work I go. But first, other crazy news: Colin got a cell phone! The world has gone mad!
